Family Office Retreat

Premium Utility Room in St Peters NSW – Workers' cottage

Completed November 2024

This St Peters home presented the perfect opportunity to create a versatile family retreat in the unused roof space. The homeowners needed a dedicated home office that could double as a relaxation space for the family. We installed a Skylark Electric Foldaway Attic Stairs with timber treads and black metal frame for safe, convenient access. The finished 20 square metre space features dual skylights flooding the room with natural light, a dedicated desk workstation with cube storage for files and supplies, a cozy lounge area with bean bag chairs and coffee table, premium timber flooring, and an additional 10 square metres of hidden storage. The result is a multi-functional space perfect for work, study, and family relaxation.

The Challenge

Two parents working from home were competing for space at the dining table, with nowhere quiet to focus. They also had boxes of belongings cluttering every cupboard in the house.

Our Solution

We created a 20sqm office and lounge with dual skylights, plus 10sqm of hidden storage, all accessed by a Skylark electric foldaway ladder so no floor space was lost below.

The electric ladder is genius - it disappears completely. We now have a proper office and finally somewhere to store everything. Best decision we've made for the house.
